Explore Salk
Explore Salk is a free, community open-house scheduled for Saturday, October 27, 2018. It is an opportunity for Salk to open the doors and invite the San Diego community to learn more about our scientific research while at the same time providing a day of science education. The day features:
- faculty talks (see schedule on website)
- research booths staffed by Salk scientists
- hands-on activities for all ages
- virtual lab tours
Research booth and kids’ activities will be open from 10:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Refreshments will be available for purchase on campus. Visitors will be able to tour the iconic campus however access to the labs are not permitted.
The event is free and open to all ages. We encourage visitors to pre-register in advance however walk-in visitors will be able to register on the event day.

Volunteer with the Salk Mobile Science lab to help bring science to life for middle schoolers all over San Diego County!
The Salk Mobile Science Lab travels to schools approximately every other week from September to June.

Workshop will take place at the Salk Institute for Biological Students from 8:30-12pm in the Parker Room.
