Nat at Night

Kick off your weekends at The Nat this summer. We’ll be open until 10 PM on Fridays through August 31*, with half-price admission after 5 PM. As always, Explorer passholders and members of The Nat receive free general admission. Not a member? Join today.

The Museum is jam-packed with immersive exhibitions, incredible new 3D nature documentaries, and pop-up programming on select dates. Nat at Night is a great opportunity to experience Unshelved: Cool Stuff From Storage and The Backyard. New films include Oceans: Our Blue Planet and Backyard Wilderness 3D (opening August 1).

New this year is a rooftop bar that offers one of the best views in the Park. It’s open to all visitors and will serve beer, wine, and non-alcoholic drinks including kids’ beverages. Also, for a limited time, The Nat is collaborating with Sundara Indian Cuisine to provide delicious bites for rooftop bar patrons during Nat at Night. View menu.

The rooftop bar will also host weekly trivia games at 7 PM. While each game has a natural history theme, questions will range from science to sports, pop culture, and history. First, second, and third place winners receive prizes each week. The team that accumulates the most points over the course of the summer will get an exclusive backstage tour with The Nat’s vice president.

These evenings are part of Friday Night Alive, where two fan-favorite events come together for one terrific evening each week. Extended evening hours at select museums and Food Truck Friday combine for a rich night of live entertainment, evening hours at several popular museums, hands-on creative projects, and a rotating assortment of food truck cuisine. Learn more about all the activities happening this summer in Balboa Park.
