Afterschool/Out-of-School Time

Treobytes, is a San Diego county based nonprofit that works to empower kids in the areas of science, technology, engineering, and math. Our mission is to empower young girls and underrepresented youth to learn, create, and develop 21st century IT skills through access and collaboration. We strive to create tech-savvy leaders by solving real world problems that utilize technology, problem-solving skills and teamwork. How we do this, is by making technology accessible to kids, especially those in underprivileged areas by offering after school programs, camps, and workshops that will provide this exposure and reinforce that foundation.
Our learning environment promotes creative problem solving, and design concepts that allow kids to become more comfortable with technology. They develop and learn the basics of programming, social media and STEAM projects in a team environment. To date, we have serviced over 800+ students and we are currently working with several school districts in southern California. TreoBytes supports not just the technical confidence but the social confidence. Our facilitators have very diverse backgrounds and life struggles but they continue to persevere. Our program emphasizes the appreciation for thinking differently, creatively, and being a role model for our youth.
