Advocacy/Philanthropy & Government

The NASA Solar System Ambassadors program is a public engagement effort that works with motivated volunteers across the nation to communicate the science and excitement of NASA's space exploration missions and discoveries with the people in their communities. Solar system ambassadors are volunteers who support community events where they talk about recent discoveries and upcoming milestones in space exploration and future NASA missions.
I have been a JPL ambassador since retiring from JPL in 2015 after 26 years. During my career, I worked on JPL's deep space missions, including Voyager, Galileo, Cassini, multiple Asteroid, Lunar, and Comet Missions, and the Mars orbiter and lander missions. I was responsible for managing telecommunications service support for missions using NASA's Deep Space Network (DSN), including NASA missions and our international partners, ESA, JAXA, and ISRO missions. I am available to speak about NASA/JPL missions at schools, libraries, foundations, and after-school clubs, including hands-on activities for students.
