The EcoLogik Institute

CBOs, Family/Parent Organizations, Youth Organizing & Advisory Groups

The mission of the EcoLogik Institute is to empower young women and other underserved youth to be champions for nature, innovators in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, warriors for environmental stewardship, leaders in their communities, and change makers who create a positive impact on the world around them.

The EcoLogik Institute provides the tools and context to empower the 21st century of ecological and outdoor stewards. Execution of this goal is made possible through inquiry-based learning that emphasizes leadership and science identity. Our diversity of programs cater to a unique audience while providing a continuum of learning and mentorship for EcoLogik members.

What began as a single two week summer camp, the EcoLogik Institute has evolved into a multi-faceted, strategic framework to best meet the needs of both the local and greater community. Each of the three program pillars - Summer Experience, Leadership Academy, and Workshops & Community - caters to a unique audience:
- Summer Experience - a free, STEM summer day camp at Cabrillo National Monument for girls aged 10-16.
- Leadership Academy - ongoing STEAM and life skills learning for Summer Experience alumni, including a robust apprenticeship program with diverse scientists and science communicators
- Workshops & Community - free STEAM workshops and community engagement events (STEAM Fairs, etc.) at Cabrillo National Monument and in the community at locations such as public libraries
