3D Printing and CAD Workshop

Explore new frontiers in technology through 3D printing in Studio X at the Fleet Science Center. Our next three-session workshop on computer-aided design (CAD) and 3D printing is coming up. The schedule is below. You'll get to design and execute the printing of your very own three-dimensional object!

Presented by Otto Lai

Otto Lai began his professional career in New York as a modeler on MTV’s Celebrity Death Match and then as an animator on Nickelodeon’s Little Bill. Since moving to San Diego, he joined Legend 3D to work on Tim Burton’s Alice In Wonderland, and as Head Compositing Trainer helped prepare over 200 artists for Transformers 3: Dark of the Moon, Smurfs and other titles. With over nine years of teaching experience, Otto co-founded the Visual Effects and Compositing Program at Platt College in 2010. He is currently teaching at Art Institute San Diego, San Diego State University and FX Dojo in Liberty Station.
