After the film, you can ask a scientist!

Dr. Octavio Aburto, an assistant professor at Scripps Institution of Oceanography, will share information and answer questions about the significant conservation issues in the Sea of Cortez.

Dr. Sarah Mesnick is the Science Liaison for the Southwest Fisheries Science Center, will discuss the status of the population of the Vaquita, the most endangered porpoise in the world.

The program will be available FREE, for all ages, and in English and Spanish.
Light refreshments will be served.

Dr. Sarah Mesnick es el enlace científico para el centro de ciencias pesqueras del suroeste. Ella nos ofrecerá información sobre el estado de la población de Vaquitas en México, la especie de mamífero marino en mayor peligro de extinción.

Looking for a quality experience for your kids during the Thanksgiving school break? The Elementary Institute of Science is offering 3-day technology camps for grades 2-8.

For 2nd & 3rd graders, 3-D printing will be the focus, while 4th, 5th, and 6th graders will try their hand at building and programming robots. Not to be outdone, 7th and 8th graders will learn to program drones to fly autonomously.

School may not be in session, but learning never takes a break and the fun never stops at EIS.
