Picturing Conservation: Nature Photography Workshop

Ocean Connectors is offering a free nature photography workshop, "Picturing Conservation", to inspire underserved students to pursue fulfilling careers in nature photography, conservation, and STEAM. All ages welcome!

The workshop will provide students with real-life mentorship and photographic experience in the field, while empowering them to pursue their passion for photography and apply it to environmental conservation. Experienced photographer Jonathan Lavan of Underpressure Nature Photography is donating his valuable time as a workshop leader

Participants will learn the basics of nature photography, then test out their new skills in a beautiful outdoor setting in San Diego, California. We are providing free transportation in the Ocean Connectors sea turtle van to help our students attend, and one lucky participant will win a matte print of one of their photos, plus an Ocean Connectors t-shirt!

  • Free transportation will be provided from Central Elementary in National City at 9:00 am.
  • A limited number of cameras will be available for participants to borrow while they explore the local habitat.
