Girl Scouts San Diego

Afterschool/Out-of-School Time

Throughout our 100-year-plus history, Girl Scouts have learned by doing. Because our program is girl-led, girls decide what they do together. At Girl Scouts, girls have access to a collection of engaging, challenging, and fun activities like earning badges, going on awesome trips, selling cookies, exploring science, getting outdoors, and doing community service projects. Along the way, girls will gain important skills in the four areas that form the foundation of the Girl Scout Leadership Experience: - Science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) - Outdoors - Life Skills - Entrepreneurship In fact, Girl Scouts San Diego is on a mission to fill the STEM workforce pipeline. Through the nationwide STEM Pledge, Girl Scouts will reach 2.5 million girls across the country with our hands-on STEM programs by 2025. In San Diego, this means all of our 23,000 girls will have access to council-wide STEM activities through their troops, our council events, and camps. We are committed to by providing girls with leadership and learning opportunities so that at least 10,000 girls will participate in earning one of our 36 STEM-focused badges, explore a STEM career through an event or activity, or participate in STEM-focused programming each year.
