STEM Influencer 101
Do you have an under-representation of female high school student voices in your school's STEM activities? Invite them to attend this "STEM Influencer 101" role model training. Inspired in celebration of Engineers Week, the focus of this training is helping teens become better role models for other girls in following their STEM dreams.
Students: "Are you one of the few girls in robotics club? Do you wish there were more girls that went to coding camp? Is your engineering class dominated by male voices? This training is to help you use your STEM superpowers to encourage other girls to pursue science, technology, engineering and math! We'll talk about what makes a good leader, practice new leadership skills, and share local opportunities for you to inspire others."
The training will be virtual, on Wednesday, February 23, 2022, from 4:30 pm - 6 pm PST. While the target audience is teenage girls, role models of all ages and genders are welcome to attend.
The Women in STEM Workgroup host quarterly role model trainings as part of the San Diego STEM Ecosystem Role Model Initiative: a collection of partners invested in leveraging programs for girls and women in and out of school through networking and collaboration. Learn more.
